If necessary you can edit further in NVivo Audio and video transcripts. Transcribe, an online transcription and dictation software is working really well for me now and it makes the process much faster than having to type everything. Open the media file in NVivo to see the transcript. The transcript is imported and embedded as the transcript of the media file. Return to the NVivo Transcription dialog box in NVivo and click Import. (See directions for the editor in the Transcription Help, here.) When transcription is finished click Review transcript to open the transcript in the web editor (the first time you do this you may need to log into your myNVivo account again).Įdit the transcript using the web editor, making corrections as necessary and optionally adding speaker names. When the files have uploaded select the language being spoken in each, then click Transcribe.

The minutes of transcription time available are shown at the top of the dialog box (refreshed every five minutes). NOTE You can populate the Transcription dialog box before you open it-open a media file that you want to transcribe before opening the dialog box, or right-clickthe file in the List View and select NVivo Transcription. Once added, the files automatically upload to NVivo Transcription on the web. In the Transcription dialog box, click Add Files to add audio or video files to transcribe. If you need to change accounts, log out and back in again with the correct account. If you are not already logged into a myNVivo account (shown in the myNVivo menu in the top right of the NVivo interface ), log in now. On the Create tab, click NVivo Transcription. Open the project containing the audio or video files you want to transcribe.
Use NVivo Transcription to transcribe media files from NVivo 12 Other NVivo 12 users can transcribe their files on the Transcription website then import the transcripts into NVivo manually Import transcripts. IMPORTANT Direct integration with Transcription, as described above, is only available for NVivo version 12 if you are in Europe, Africa or the Middle East, or your first Transcription purchase was before 18 March 2020 (contact Technical Support with any difficulties). You must have pay-as-you-go credits to use it with NVivo 12.
